The purpose of the ICT Special Programs Short Seminar is to provide an overview of available assets and programs related to Crimes Against Children, Suspicious Activity Reporting, Human Trafficking, and Sex Offender Compliance.  Participants completing the seminar will:

Understanding of the Texas Crimes against Children Center and the value of adding intelligence analysts to investigations.

Understanding of High Risk Missing Children and Attempted Child Abductions; criteria and legislative mandates for local law enforcement

.Understanding of the Suspicious Activity Reporting Network and how to report. Knowledge of the Interdiction for the Protection of Children training

Understanding of the elements of human trafficking and the state / federal laws that pertain to human trafficking

Understanding and recognition of human trafficking indicators and red flags

Understanding the requirements of using a victim centered approach in human trafficking investigations in accordance with the TVPA Act

Understanding the importance of collaboration of law enforcement agencies and NGO’s

Understanding the use of the intelligence role when developing a human trafficking investigation

Understanding of registration requirements for sex offenders in Texas

Understand penalties for failing to register or comply with registration requirements.

Understanding of best practices when conducting sex offender compliance checks

Be able to locate pertinent information on the TX DPS Sex Offender Secure Website. 6.

Understand the importance of completing current registration documents on registered sex offenders and updating the secure site in a timely manner.
