The target audience is law enforcement and CPS staff. The goal will be to enhance the officers understanding, of their role when working with DFPS case workers during a CPS investigation.To provide the officers with an understanding of the Child Safety Check Alert List, and what actions are required, when they receive notice they have a possible hit on the Child Safety Check Alert List.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants know the different program areas which are part of the Department of Family Protective Services.
Participants will be able to explain when they must make report, to the department, the time frame in which they must make the report.
Participants will be able to explain the circumstance DFPS requests Law enforcement assistance, and what their role is Family Code 261.301.
Participants will be able to discuss the purpose of a CSCAL,
Student will be able to explain the difference between as missing person report and SCCAL.
Student be able to explain steps to take when encountering a person/child in CSCAL
Student will be able to list step to take and their authority to detain or take custody of a child.
